Struvite stones?
Stien Pet Line is the answer!

Struvite stones are rather frequent in dogs and cats.
In most cases, they are mainly found in the lower urinary tract (bladder and urethra) and can cause symptoms such as dysuria (difficulty and pain when passing urine), oliguria (decreased urinary excretion) or even anuria (no urine production), pollakiuria (increased frequency of urination without increased volume), stranguria (painful, intermittent emission of urine) and haematuria (presence of blood in the urine).
Struvite stones are made of ammonium magnesium phosphate hexahydrate and are formed when the concentration of magnesium, ammonium and phosphate ions increases in the urine and, at the same time, the urinary pH rises above 6.5.
The urine pH has a marked influence on the solubility of struvite crystals: acidification of the urine greatly increases their solubility, thus reducing the risk of urolithiasis.
Thus, urine acidification is a very important factor in the therapeutic management of urolithiasis.

When shloud I use Stien Pet Line?
Stien Pet Line supplements the diet of dogs and cats suffering from struvite and helps reducing the urinary pH.
It is always essential to identify the possible triggering causes (e.g., a bacterial urinary tract infection) and predisposing factors (e.g., anatomical defects and metabolic diseases causing immunodepression).
The rate at which struvite stones dissolve is influenced by several factors, including the surface area of the stone that is exposed to the action of unsaturated urine, the level of acidity of the urine, and the presence or absence of a urinary tract infection.
How should I use Stien Pet Line?
It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use.
Stien Pet Line can be administered for up to 6 months or as required.
To best define the right quantity to administer, a complete urinalysis or at least the urinary pH measurement should be performed periodically.
In any case, the daily quantity and period of use may be modified at the discretion of the veterinarian.
Stien Pet Line should be taken with the two main meals of the day to reduce the effects of postprandial urinary pH elevation.
Stien Pet Line can be administered with any type of diet and any type of feed; the animal’s diet does not require any change.
Thanks to its high palatability, Stien Pet Line can be mixed together with the usual (commercial or homemade) food.
Each tablet can be easily broken into 4 parts to facilitate the administration of the right quantity.
Most animals like them, and they can be taken:
- spontaneously by the animal, just like kibble or treats
- shredded and added to the usual food
- pulverised, dissolved in a small amount of water and administered with a syringe directly into the animal’s mouth.
While taking Stien Pet Line, it is normal for pets to become thirstier. It is therefore recommended that plenty of water be available at all times. In addition, a higher water intake dilutes the urine, which contributes to preventing the formation of struvite stones.
